hi. how are you? I'm obvisiously new to this board. Just surfing around this world wide web and found it by accindent. Earlier I join ESPN's web board but got very little response to my questions so I figured I'll give the Score a try. Hope I'm not disappointed.
here are some questions I got: 1) Who in 15 years will have their number retired by what teams? 2) Why not let the pro-athletes take steriods? It enhances performance so wouldn't it enhance my veiwing pleasure and give me better value on my live ticket prices? 3) Changes you'd like to see to your favourite leagues? 4) In the pro-wrestling circles there are these series of DVDs out there called shoot interview videos where a well known wrestler is candidly asked about the behind-the-scenes of their careers. there's no question bypassed. Who in the professional sports field (whether that's NBA, NHL, Football or Baseball) would you love to see and why? 5) If you could hang out with any pro-athlete past or present who would that be and why. I'd be kicking it with Chris Bosh. Seems like a cool guy. I hope he's a Raptor forever. 6) What is the darkest moment in all history of sports? 7) let's leave it off on a nice tone. What has been the most fun you ever had at a live sports event? For me it was going to WPG Jets games back when I was a kid with my parents. Alright my 1st post. |

![]() For one thing steroids are illegal and long term usage leads to major health problems. If you're still ok with that, would you be if you had a child that looked up to athletes as a role model? I'm thinking not because most parents watch out for their children welfare and kids love imitating their idols. Quote:

To answer a few...

Well, it's no longer my favorite league and it has not been for some time now, but I would like to see a salary cap in MLB. IMO, that league has become a joke and I have zero interest in giving that league one cent out of my pocket. Install a cap and I will be a fan again. Quote:

Being at Super Bowl XL. Hopefully a Stanley Cup win at home will tie XL.

Welcome to TSB! You've found a great sports community here. Hope to see you here often. And great first post, BTW. Are hockey, basketball and wrestling your only sports? Who are the teams you follow in each (apart from the Raptors and Jets, I mean). To answer your first question (good ones, all of them) 1)In the NHL, many players I can think of. Guys like Brodeur, Hasek, Luongo, Kiprisoff, Nabokov, Lidstrom, Pronger, Gonchar, Niedermayer, Crosby, Ovechkin, Iginla, Thorton, Lecavalier, Jagr, Kovalchuk, and Staal to start. In the NBA you think of Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, Duncan, Iverson, Dwayne Wade, Garnett, Nash, Nowitzki, Paul Pierce, Kidd, Carter, McGrady, Arenas, and Ray Allen among others. MLB? Bonds, ARod, IRod, Clemens, Randy Johnson, Maddux, Ken Griffey, Pedro Martinez, Jeter, Rivera, Hoffman, Glavine, Piazza, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Thome, Sizemore, Mussina, and Vlad Guerrero among others. And NFL? Brady, Favre, Peyton Manning, Steve McNair, Roethlisberger, LT, Fred Taylor, AP, Willie Parker, Steven Jackson, Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, Tiki Barber, Curtis Martin, Jamal Lewis, Marvin Harrison, Moss, Ward, Tony Gonzalez, Heap, Faneca, Ogden, Pace, Roaf, Will Shields, Strahan, Freeney, Bruschi, Zack Thomas, Ray Lewis, Derrick Brooks... too many to list.

2 and 3 have already been covered, though I may respond later. 4) Barry Bonds, Ray Lewis or Chad Johnson, Charles Barkley and Todd Bertuzzi, off the top of my head. 5) So many, but probably my all-time hero, Roberto Clemente (MLB). Having read the Maraniss autobiography about him, I think I would have been deeply impressed, even more than I already am. 6) Darkest sporting day? Soccer has had many (Heysel in Belgium, Hillsborough in England, the Munich air crash, Accra Stadium in Ghana, Ellis Park in South Africa, Bradford City fire, Ibrox Park disaster among others), but to me no day is darker than the Munich Massacre of September 5th/6th, 1972 when members of the Black September terrorist group kidnapped and slaughtered 11 Israeli Olympic athletes, including my friend's neighbor, weightlifter David Berger of Shaker Heights, OH. So much for the "Olympic spirit". And barely commemorating the loss and resuming the games? Unforgiveable. I stopped watching the Olympics that year on that day, except for seeing the last two minutes of the September 10th gold medal basketball game. 7) Most fun? Easily two events A) December 23rd, 1972: NFL play-off game, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Oakland Raiders. The "Immaculate Reception" game. B) October 15th, 1988: Game 1, MLB World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oakland Athletics. Kirk Gibson hit the most unlikely home run in baseball history, propelling the Dodgers to a 5-4 victory and ultimately inspired them to the World Championship that year.

Thanks for the logo SteeleRed. I had no idea how to purchase them.
As for myself not caring about pro-players doing steriods I'm a forever single guy who was not thinking about the kids. However... with the insane amount of money these athletes are making to play a sport aren't the poor health conditions later in life the big trade off. I may rue the day I ask that. sOORY i GET BACK TO MORE BUTR pHILLY/wash ARE IN OVERTIME. i CAN';T CONSENTRATE. |
