Critical game tonight.

Nashville (in 9th) won last night and has 84 points with 5 games to play. Colorado has 86 points with 5 games left, the Canucks have 6 games remaining, 86 points, but Colorado holds the tie breaker in wins (40 to 38).

Away from the gloomy side, a win tonight would put the Canucks to within 2 points of the division lead with two games remaining against Calgary (current division winner).

As much as I don't like the current schedule on the whole, you can't really argue about the last 8 games of the season not meaning something.

Also, beware of the Oilers. Seriously. I'm glad the Canucks only play them once over this stretch - and it's the last game of the season. Hopefully Luongo's baby drops out by then and the Canucks have a spot locked up so should we require Sanford, it won't really matter all that much.

We're really missing Ohlund out there and Bieksa is clearly getting minutes that he's not earning at this point. I would prefer to sit him a game so he can give his head a frickin' shake but these games are too critical right now... granted, he seems to be on the ice for every GA right now.

I'd love to get Bourdon in there.... maybe for McIver tonight?

Also... AV, if you want more heart and effort then play Linden more than 6 minutes a night, I mean... WTF??? He's been playing great the last three games and then you don't play him because... because Ritchie is on his line and is a complete waste of space?

Yeesh...

We HAVE to win these next three games in we want to even consider winning the division ESPECIALLY with Lou having to leave the team soon for the birth of his kid. Get this wrapped up (a playoff spot at the very least).

Anyone else thinks (hopes) Ohlund just kind of appears unannounced for one of these games coming up? Sort of like how Kesler came back from the hinterland to play game 1, round 1 against Dallas before breaking his finger.

There was the intermission thing about Kesler and his dad last night. I usually don't watch the intermissions on PPV because they suck, but nothing else was on. Anyways, talking about Kesler and his determination and last year's injuries. Supposedly after breaking his finger in Game 1 to the point where he couldn't play, he asked the trainer's if he really needed that finger and if they could cut it off. He was serious. That would have been legendary, but not unprecedented.

Ronnie Lott - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Ronald Mandel "Ronnie" Lott (born May 8, 1959) is a former American football player who starred as a cornerback, free safety and strong safety in college football and the NFL. He is most well known for his hard hits on opposing players, rivaling fellow safeties Steve Atwater and Jack Tatum as the hardest hitter of all time. A Pro Bowler at both cornerback and safety, Lott is widely considered one of the best defensive backs in NFL history.

...

Lott switched to the safety position in 1985. He cut the tip of his left pinky finger off after the 1985 season, when it was crushed tackling RB Timmy Newsome. He did so in order to continue playing football without risking further injury to the damaged finger.
Kesler has captain potential, IMO.

The boys have to show up and play 60 minutes. Geez, I'd rather we didnt get a two goal lead the way we have been playing.

Just as some of us have been saying all along... Kesler is Linden 2.0.

I said the same about Bieksa last season.

Hopefully Bieksa can still get his game turned around...

I am worried about Bieska. He was struggling BEFORE he got hurt this season. He wouldnt be the first guy in sports history to have a one good year and struggle for the next 3 or 4.

That's why I think you have to trade him in the offseason. His big contract kicks in next year and if you can find a GM willing to take him based on his play last year (there are a lot of teams that need potential quality D men), I think you gotta do it.

I think Bourdon deserves a permanent top 6 spot next year anyway.

Edler
Krajicek
