I was thinking about posting a poll with all the candidates, but then I realized I might not know all the candidates. And it would be just like the Leafs to hire someone who I didn't include in the poll.
![]() These (minus Burke) are the names I can recall reading: Neil Smith Craig Button Doug Armstrong Jim Nill Ken Holland Jim Rutherford Steve Tambellini Who are the others? |

Colin Cambell is another named consistantly tossed about.
I'd love Jim Nill from Detroit or Armstrong previously of Dallas (who are thriving off of his team). However, once again Peddie has painted himself into a corner. He came out and said we'd have a new GM by training camp and also, this GM would be a veteran star GM. I truly have no clue who the Leafs are after or how Peddie is going to handle this whole search. It is another cluster**** thanks to Dick Peddie.

I want nothing to do with Rutherford. He is an awful GM.
Neil Smith is a guy I have always liked. I know he was on the short list to be the GM of the Leafs in 03 but they went with JFJ instead. In his short time with the Isles last year he did a lot of good things for them which helped them get into the playoffs that year. I am not a fan of Dave Nonis.
