Season Opener: Redskins @ Giants - Thursday, September 4th

Let's get this shindig started! I haven't been this ready for a season to start since.... well... last season!!

We get to kick off the 2008 season with a classic battle between the Redskins and "Defending Super Bowl Champion" New York Giants. In the last five matchups between these two teams, the GMen have been victorious 3 times, but have only scored two more total points. This could mean we're in for a close one... or it could mean absolutely nothing at all.

One stat that jumps out at me about this matchup, is the rushing game. The Giants have rushed 147 times for 750 yards against the 'Skins in their last five matchups, while Warshington (yes, i spelled that right) has rushed 154 times for only 597 yards. 153 less yards on more attempts makes it blatantly obvious that the advantage goes to the Giants on the ground. If New York jumps out to an early lead... it could be a long game for the 'Skins defense.

Let's see how the members of TSB have this one ending up.

    House Of Steel: Giants

    Revolution: Redskins

    encmetalhead: Giants

    Amoroq: Giants

    NEsince92: Giants

    kfkorn: Giants

    buffalo29: Giants

    buffalogal1982: Giants

    senna1a: Giants

    Longballer: Giants

    Korrupt: Giants

So it appears as though the general consensus is that the defending champs will take care of business on Thursday. I guess we'll see how that turns out soon enough.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL????

by the way ... I reposted this on Bleacher Report, which I'll be doing with all game previews this season. If y'all decide to provide commentary on your picks, I'll update the opening post in this thread, and the article on b/r.

Additionally ... anyone who publishes their picks in the other thread will be added to the list of predictions.

I'll pull for the Skins, but I think the NYG will win.

Uh...could you change my pic pleas, NE? Somehow, I don't remember picking, but it said I picked the G-Men?

Wait..did I pick NY in the one predictions thread? Maybe.... Anyway, please change it. I'm thinking the 'Skins will upset them, and I'm hoping for it too.

    My Addiction.
Thanks to House of Steel for this.

I'm not a fan of either team, but I picked the Giants to win...though I'll probably be wrong. If Jason Campbell ends up playing well, I have a feeling that the Redskins will win.

I know the Skins are the underdogs and we are not healthy, we may lose this game, but I refuse to think negative, I just can't do it!
