NFL Thanksgiving Football Games are Predictable

Im an avid football fan that loves to watch Football on Thanksgiving day but it seems that every year when the Lions and Cowboys play you know whats gonna happen whoever the Lions play they beat em and whoever the Cowboys play the Cowboys win. So to me as a fan its just not that exciting to watch a Football game when you already know whats gonna happen. I didn't know if anybody else felt the same way about this or not but I think the NFL should have a couple different teams play in these games in the following years. I mean tonight's game might be pretty good between the Broncos and Giants but to me its really just not very entertaining especially when turkey day is supposed to be a great day to watch some competitive football. Anyway have a Happy Thanksgiving all you sports fans.

    Go Colts!!!!!

Tradition is tradition, but you do have a valid point.

Maybe have the Vikes play in the Dome(they seem to be there in just about every game they played this year anyway) or the Saints in the NFC.

And in the AFC, maybe The Steelers or Colts.

Thoughts on other teams in the NFC or the AFC posters would like to see play on Turkey Day?

My thoughts are if you want to keep the Lions playing on Thanksgiving give them a team closer to them in terms of ability. The Lions and Browns put on an outstanding game earlier this year, despite the fact that if they are playing teams better than them on a normal week it is usually a horrendous game. A closer game could make up for it in the ratings. The Browns are just an example, but there are better examples of team out there that don't have a very good record but have an interesting upcoming player to watch for.

Cowboys, even though they haven't won a play-off game in over 10 years are self-proclaimed as "America's Team". They have enough of a nationwide following that watches regardless of their playoffs aspirations. The same could be said for the Packers if the Lions were ever to be replaced. The Colts and Pats are also favorites among fans right now but that is because of the QB they have. Without Manning and Brady the Colts and Pats are not on the same level nationwide that lesser Cowboys and Packer teams would be on. Same goes with other "bandwagon teams of the moment"

The third game on the NFL should be alternating like it has been. I really have no problem with that. You could also compromise and move the Lions to the late game on the NFL network since not every gets it and you could keep the traditionalists somewhat happy by keeping Detroit on Thanksgiving albeit by giving it a smaller audience.
