I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Detroit is suffering from a few key injuries, with Franzen out and it looks like Datsyuk will be out of the lineup as well. Quick back in goal, I'm hoping we come out hungry for a win in Hockeytown. GO KINGS GOOO!!

Tough 5-2 loss tonight. Though the boys played hard, fatigue set in on a few of them.

Fatigue had nothing to do with it...might be nice if the officials actually called a game fair and complete from both sides.

That was just plain bad...I haven't seen diving like that since the Olympics.

Oh...and Cleary...should be ashamed of himself...

Kevin Lowe is the worst thing to happen to the NHL since the glow puck.

LA Angel fans...the worst in baseball...someone needs to tell them that baseball WAS played prior to 2002.

I don't like to blame officials for losses. The Kings certainly made their fair share of mistakes. But those 2 calls were complete bull***t. Kopitar gets tripped at center ice & that gets missed while the Kings get a too many men penalty. Then Stoll has his stick held and HE gets penalized. That was unbelievable. And of course the Wings scored right off the draw on that penalty.

I still want to kick Anschutz & Lieweke in the balls.

Well if the Kings could actually kill penalties these missed calls should not matter. Kings had plenty of chances 8 to Detroits 8. Cleary did stick his back leg out but it was not flagrant so I could see how they missed it. You can see Cleary's eyes waiting for someone on the Kings to come over but it really never happened. The Draper call well thats one that happens in Hockey all the time. I have done it playing and it does get called especially if your shorthanded. It is a basic play, get that stick under your arm pit and twist and fall. Tough call for the ref because with the amount of drama something has to be called and 9 out of 10 its hooking not holding the stick. By the way Stoll had every right to be pissed!! Frustrating.

Disagree Ekimasho...Cleary's play was as flagrant as they get, and as dirty as they get. I USED to respect him...I no longer do. Somebody needed to go after him right then and there, but with the point the game was at, that was why nothing happened.

You said it wasn't flagrant, and then you said Cleary was looking around, waiting for something to happen. That statement RIGHT THERE shows how flagrant it was.

Agreed Mr. Brett. Even my wife (closet hockey fan) was pissed off at the disparity in the calls. Seems to go that way with the Red Wings. They cheat, plain and simple. For every penalty called against us i could count 2-3 of the SAME type that Detroit committed against us with no calls at all. I lost count of how many times sticks would connect with gloves, change the movement of the Kings player and had nothing called. Very frustrating game, I think we played a very good game over all, took it to them in the 1st period and then we had to serve what? About 10 minutes of the second period was 4x4 or shorthanded for us. The check on Kopi was clearly an attempt to injure, as a matter of fact, i think there were 2 other times he got checked hard, once where the pass went by him and he never touched the puck. Bad game of refereeing and with that a total takeaway of OUR flow of the game. I have NO problem with the way we are playing, none at all. This team is good, that is a no doubter, however, i fear there will never be parity on penalties for us. No whine here, just stating the obvious. To the previous poster, "all we need to do is kill the penalties off" HA! We will win Saturday, tired or not.

Well...he is right about one thing. You can't just complain about the penalties...regardless, you still need to kill them off (which they did 5 of 6).

I don't have as much a problem with the penalties being called as much as I have with the non-calls (as you mentioned FD1).

NHL officials have the hardest job, IMO of any officials in any sport, but that is no excuse for missing blatant and obvious calls time and time again.

Oh I agree, we need to kill them, yes correct. You know this goes along with the ref clearly blowing his whistle, giving the washout sign in the previous game (oh wait, i think he was calling the player safe at home) and then going to replay and overturning the non goal. I mean I agree it was a goal but i certainly feel the call probably would have gone the other way if it was us scoring (maybe not )but it sure feels like it would have. Just frustrated is all, been waiting a long time for a good, hungry and young team like we have at the moment. I think Williams is picking it up finally and i liked the way the 4th line looked without Raitis, altho, i wish someone would kick the sheet out of cleary! Someday....
Also, it was interesting to see Murray's frustration with the calls, I think that is the first time I've seen him show that much emotion.
