Holy smokes is he ever lighting up the worlds. Today he tied for the most goals in the tourney since Lindros in '93. He really is smoking, he's been fun to watch.
Of course the radio is filled with whines about how he couldn't do this in the playoffs. Some are suggesting better linemates. I don't think so, I think it's just the ebbs and flows of good players. He's just hot right now, everything's going in. He's an excellent player and I'm glad he will be here for many years. |

It has been a treat to watch him play. I think comments that he needs better linemates are unfounded (at least that was the case until Jan '08). Remember how everybody was talking about how great his chemistry with Spezza was?
Spezza also had a great game yesterday. He seemed to be playing better defensive hockey and we were also treated to uncharacteristic busrts of speed. I'm hoping he's able to get at least one goal tomorrow in what I'm also hoping will be a commanding Canadian victory. It is so nice to be able to cheer for Team Canada. It's the only hockey I'm really enjoying at the moment. I really don't like any of the teams that are left in the playoffs. Is there any way both of the finalists could lose?

Heatley's just proving again that the doesn't need to be paired with Spezza to be able to produce. It's perhaps Spezza that needs to be paired with Heatley to be able to produce?
