I guess that Flyers' luck finally ran out.
And, good luck next year.

I don't think anyone ever thought the Pens would jump out to a 3-0 series lead like this. Amazing!!

I did, since, they manhandled suppose rivalry from last year, Senators, in the first round. They crushed Rangers and their physical play and that Avery-thing in the second round. Flyers were rely on their goalie and good positioning (ok,trap) to win but with the talent of Pens that they can just skate through the D.

I was keeping quiet about that, GLG. That looks beautiful.

Ah well, spoke too soon. Flyers have forced a fifth game.

But I still think this series will go to the Pens.

Yeah, I saw that broom and thought, Oh he jinxed us for a sweep. That is alright, the series is back in Pittsburgh. That should be a gimmie. .

The Pens will hopefully clean up at home under the dome on Sunday. It will be a safer victory there than in Philly for sure.
I am still a bit in shock how these series' have gone - never expecting the Pens would do as well as they did. Oh yes, I expected they'd win, but not play with the impact they did. All is good in Penguinland.

I've been wanting to change my avatar but I'm scared to make any changes at all right now. Other than clothing, I mean.

I was surprised that the Penguins won so easily today. I thought the Flyers would have put up more of a fight. Regardless, props to the Pens for getting it done and moving onto the Stanley Cup Finals.

With a healthy Gagne and a slightly improved D we can go to the ECF again next year, this time with home ice.

To go this far without Gagne and with so many first year Flyers is still an accomplishment. Still blows though.

See ya.

Hope you and the other Flyers fans can see this. I kept it in the back of my mind what you'd said about your team after last year. A couple of you said "we'll be much better next year with our blend of veterans and youth (Carter, Kote, Downie, Lupul, Coburn, Jones, Parent and especially Mike Richards)". And you guys were so right! Amazing turnaround, and good things to build on for next season.
The East will be a "beast" season: Pens, Flyers, Canadians, Rangers and Capitals will all be top contenders again next season. Look forward to that challenge.

But for now: time to celebrate our return to playing for Lord Stanley's Cup!
