1-0 Pens after two periods. Pens generating most of the big chances, but Lundqvist has been great and the Rangers are not completely toothless. It will be an interesting finish to the game.

Pens makes it 2-0 on the empty netter.

Penguins put on a trapping clinic in the third period. Only time the Rangers was able to apply some pressure was on the PP. The Pens have developed a lot as a team since last year for sure. They could go all the way.

The Rangers have a big problem with the Jagr line right now. It's looking horribly dysfunctional. All Dubinski is doing is looking to get the puck to Jagr, and all Jagr is doing is trying to go through 3 defenders every time he gets the puck. Plus he's not shooting the puck at all on the PP. He even set up in the middle of the PP unit a couple times in this game, instead of the halfboards, which didn't work at all. So they definitely need to get that line going, or they're in deep trouble.

The power-play doesn't shoot the puck, it hasn't all year, why would they start now!

Interesting, Michel Therrien has the Pens playing a style that is close to Alain Vigneault's Canucks (when their healthy - ie., 2006/07 season). Course, there's a HUGE difference with Crosby & Malkin excuting that plan and Henrik Sedin & Brendan Morrison.

They weren't really trapping until they decided to defend the lead in the third period. But when they decided to shift gears into trap mode, they were very impressive indeed. That to me really shows that they are infact a team ready to go deep in this playoffs, perhaps even all the way. They looked very mature.

What a game tonight! Never saw that win coming. I was confident after one we'd win, not so much when they tied, a little more confident when we added #4 and #5, then nervous the entire time 'til 0:00 remained.

We are up 3-0 on a team that I'd expected would give us a difficult time. Not sure how, now sure why, but we are, and I want to NOW settle it all: no wins for the 'Gers. I WANT A SWEEP!

Pens are just rolling over everyone, they are avg. more than 4 goals per. Good to see the old Pens in early 90s are back, too bad that Oilers cannot do the same thing. Then again,Pens were just hard to watch in most part of early century.

Yikes! You had to bring up that imagery in my mind's eye, didn't you?

Of course, last night, everything fell apart: no passion, no discipline, no team play... all the worst in one package. Not that the Rangers played that well (I've seen them play better this year), but it was good enough on this night when their opponent played like .

Can't wait for Sunday.
