It would be a goal anyway, Kovalev should let it go. He was too jumpy on that one which will drop in behind even without him touching it. He was actually too stupid and got lucky since they let that goal stand.

And, for game 2, Price looked like a rookie.

When I first saw the play, I said the same thing.

But the replay, in slow-mo, show that it was just barely below the crossbar. If you watch the hilite video in the Hockey Video forum, they have a great replay of it. The goal is about 2:58.

That goal was just really difficult to judge if it was above the crossbar or not. At those situations you just gotta rely on the league that they get it right with the video people. Obviously extremely difficult for the on-ice officials to say the least.

It feels like the Habs PP is getting closer to clicking again though. They were horrible in the first round, but is starting to get the puck moving better now. I have a feeling they will break out soon and put a few goals in on the PP.

An extremely even series so far overall, and it's very logical that it's 1-1 after the first 2 games.

First period sure was intense. Flyers did well to kill off the 5-on-3, and overall did well enough to keep Les Habs guessing.

Well,so much for a rookie Goalie,3 goals for 11 shots.
And 52 shots for 2 goals by Habs for the last 5 periods.

Go Flyers in this one.

BTW, how was that Montreal cheapshot in the context of the game?

ie
Were they frustrating them for a long time, and Montreal retaliated?
Montreal just trying to set a tone?
Just a dumb play by a player?
Something else?

I saw the puch on Timmonen, but and just wondering how it fit in the game.

Carboneau said that the Flyers were taunting his players. IMO Timonen isn't that kind of player. He's no Steve Downie or Scottie Upshall.

Hatcher took out Boullion tonight and was given a 5 minute major so Carbo can STFU finally.

Biron's been winning the "goalies duel" so far in this series. Great game by Biron tonight. Series is still far from over - but I can't help but feel it was an ill advised gamble by Gainey to rush Price's development (or at least not have a viable alternate solution - ie., no Huet). Pressure *seems* to be getting to Price.

Goalies duel? That's not much of a "duel" since Price was 3-12 today and 7-35 for the last 2 days.Habs' Ds cannot even trust Price enough to advance far to give an extra support on O and maybe getting a few rebounds here and there. You can tell besides the great saves by Biron that not a single Hab can get those second chances on it.
Anyhow,as much as I really don't think that Flyers deserved to be in 2nd round but they do deserve to crush Habs and advance to conference finals.
Good luck with Pens.
