Oakland Raiders
Default Final mock of the year PLEASE COMMENT

1.Miami Dolphins-Jake Long, OT Michigan
I still think there is a strong possibility they could go Chris Long here.

2.St. Louis Rams-Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU
He is the best defensive player in the draft. and i will explain why not chris long.
  • After Dorsey/Ellis there are no true UT.Carrikker is bulking up to 315+ pounds, and not many UT's are that big. He will play NT for them. Cliff Ryan is inconsistent and lacks a pass rush. This leaves a hole at UT.
  • The DE class is very deep with pass rushers such as Calais Cambell and Lawrence Jackson who should still be available by that point. At DT the next best product is Trevor Laws who played NT and Red Bryant also a NT.
  • On NFL.com it says that Dorsey has edge over Long.i know not to beleeve anything i see on the internet but i think this is true.
  • I am not doing this just so raiders will get Long. yes it would be a good pick, a dream pick since the other long has already signed, but this is my opinion on how the draft will shape up as a Mock drafter...not a raider fan.
3.Atlanta Falcons-Matt Ryan, QB Boston College
Worst case scenario for Falcons, top 2 players are off the board. Turner is fine @ RB, too much of a reach for ryan clady...set @ DE w/ last years #1 pick....need a QB. Ryan is clean off the field, something Arthur Blank is more than happy to hear about. He will need some Oline picks in 2nd round like sam baker or Gosder cherilus as he will be running for his life behind that dreadful OLine. i wouldnt play ryan this year, let Harrington/Redman get killed then next year when the oline is more stabilized, put him in. Icould also see a trade w/ Baltimore or chicago.

4.Oakland Raiders-Chris Long, DE Virginia
Once again... not because im a raiderfan, it is my most likely scenario.Raiders Need DE, DT, OT, WR, SLB(why havnt we signed Takeo Spikes yet?). Sorry sed, we need NT not UT. Clady= too much of a reach, and since C.Long is on board. No WR should go until AT LEAST 20. Sam= not that big of a need. If you read my "Can you Beleive..." post youll know that i am a big C.Long fan. There was some rumblings about oakland passing on chris long. i dont think this will happen since KC has a hole at DE and i think raiders would make this pick just to stick it to the chiefs even if they didnt have a need @ DE.

5.Kansas City Chiefs-Ryan Clady, OT Boise State
yes they need a DE but like i said w/ rams, DE class very deep, but so is Ot. this is a bit of a conundrum. i see the chiefs going either way, either Gholston or clady. the deciding factor... On NFL.com, it says chiefs will either go Long, OLINE or trade down. apparently Chiefs arent sold on Gholston....looks like Carl Pederson isnt such a retard.

6.New York Jets-Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas
Jets are enamored w/ DMAC he think that if he is there jets will take him. Gholston looks good, but they added Calvin Pace, and the D was ok last year, they need help on O.

7.New England Patriots-Vernon Gholston, DE Ohio State
Yes They need CB, but class is deep. 3-4 pass rushers.. not so much.
After gholston the next best i think is quentin Groves and i have seen mocks in which he has snuck into 1st round. Players like Dejuan tribble, Brandon flowers and justin king will be there at the end of 2nd round. Gholston also brings the average age of a New England linebacker down to 55.

8.Baltimore Ravens- Leodis McKelvin, CB Troy
Baltimore needs, Qb...but no Ryan. OT...but no Clady.... Samari Rolle has been beaten frequently and McAllister is getting old. i dont think any other oline are worth top 10 pick. they could trade down w/ a team who needs LB or CB to get a OT like Williams or Otah.

9.Cinncinatti Bengals-Sedrick Ellis DT, USC
Most likely selection, as the D has been terrible these last couple of decades. They need a differnece maker on the DLine, someone who can actually fight of blockers. Could also go with Keith Rivers.

10.New Orleans Saints-Keith Rivers, LB USC
If saints trade up, expect dorsey. they also want Ellis, then McKelvin. DRC is raw and would take a year to develop. NO can win now, all they need is a stabilizing factor on D. Keith Rivers is Pro ready and can step in day 1 and help them get back to the NFC championship game.

11.Buffalo Bills-Domonique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB TSU
Bills are a youbg team whose best years are ahead of thim so i say draft for the future. No wr should go this high, as they all have major faults. IF DRC can learn the system, he will dominate.

12.Denver Broncos-Chris Williams, OT Vandy
Denver needs LT, so why not get cutler the one he had in college. he gave up one sck this year on a team which is the hawaii of the SEC against players like Derrick Harvey, and Ricky-jean Francois. Could go rivers if hes available.

13.Carolina Panthers-Rashard Mendenhall, RB Illinois

14.Detroit Lions-Derrick Harvey, DE Florida

15.Chicago Bears-Brandon Albert, OT/OG Virginia

16.Arizona Cardinals-Mike Jenkins, CB USF

17.Kansas City Chiefs-Philip Merling, DE Clemson

18Houston Texans-Jonathan Stewart, RB Oregon

19.Philidelphia Eagles-Jeff Otah, OT Pittsburgh

20.washington Redskins-Devin Thomas, WR Michigan State

21.Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Desean Jackson, WR California

22.Dallas Cowboys-Aqib Talib, CB Kansas

23.Pittsburgh Steelers-Antoine Cason, CB Arizona

24.Tennessee Titans-Limas Sweed, WR Texas

25.Seattle Seahawks-Kentwan Balmer, DT UNC

26.Jacksonville Jaguars-Lawrence Jackson, DE USC

27.San Francisco-James Hardy, WR Indiana

28.Dallas Cowboys-Felix Jones, RB Arkansas

29.San Diego-Kenny Phillips, FS Miami

30.Green Bay Packers-Dan Connor, LB Penn State

31.New York Giants-Jerod Mayp, LB Tennessee

ok.....
we drafted McFadden
then with our next pick we took a corner

we need a LT as sims was cut harris should be a RT and we already have aso/hall/routt/
branch will be a dime back this year
wr should have been picked in 4th
and we shouldve traded down to mid teens to pick up more picks
however, as always i will support the raiders cause i bleed silver and black
but that draft was kinda stoopid

CB for the Steelers? . No can do

I am thinking that guy from Boston College as the Offensive Tackle that will go with the 23rd pick. I am also thinking, we could be trading this pick to gather additional picks in the second and third rounds.

I think it is Glenn Dorsey or Chris Long for the Rams. Both are solid choices.

I am not sure Ryan Clady goes to the Chiefs. I can see them taking Vernon Gholston, then taking Jeff Otah with that first they acquired from the Vikings.

I think there have been some rumblings of Cincinnati drafting a running back, I do not think that would be a smart move for them. Sedrick Ellis makes sense for them, a RB does not.

I know Clady is the generally accepted choice, but you're right, I don't see them going OT at #5. Honestly, Elllis (or Dorsey, if available) will be most likely. Herm loves drafting DTs.
