ALLEN TO VIKES A DONE DEAL
Posted by Mike Florio on April 22, 2008, 10:42 p.m.
What do Carl Eller and Jared Allen have in common?

Okay, what else do they have in common? As of Wednesday, both will have been members of the Minnesota Vikings.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Vikings have reached a contract agreement with defensive end Jared Allen and a trade agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The deal will be finalized on Wednesday.

Allen was the NFL’s sack leader in 2007, despite missing two games due to a suspension. His first game was against the Vikings, and his performance was downright dominant.

Men their defense is going to be scary!

It's not going to be that scary. I've never been a fan of Allen, but he's a good pass rusher. Still, they're going to need a lot more help on defense if they want to have a prayer of stopping the pass.

dam i was just gonna post that. oh well. happy because that pretty much eliminates any threat on chiefs D/ they are now officialy the worst team in AFC west. these are possible picks i see n trade:
1 aND 2
1 and 3
1 and 4
2,3,4,5
1,5,6
if they get 1 i see them goin gholston w/first pick then otah w/ second. hopefully they are both busts.

we drafted McFadden
then with our next pick we took a corner

we need a LT as sims was cut harris should be a RT and we already have aso/hall/routt/
branch will be a dime back this year
wr should have been picked in 4th
and we shouldve traded down to mid teens to pick up more picks
however, as always i will support the raiders cause i bleed silver and black
but that draft was kinda stoopid

I think thats too much, even though I like Allen a lot, I just dont think he is worth a mid 1st and a couple of thirds. I think Gholston now will probably go to KC, too bad for the Jets and the Pats.

the vikings now should have a very easy ride to the top of the nfc north.the finished 8-8 last season and have improved their passing game and defense this offseason and we all know they have a damn good running game.

Jared Allen is a nice addition to the Vikings defense, but good job by the Chiefs for getting the return that they did.

Wow, that's a lot for Allen. Granted, he's a great player, but if you have to lose him, this is good compensation.

Disagree with all. Carl Peterson should be shot for giving up Jared Allen. He is a hell of a player and not just an average player. I would be doing flips if we had just gotten him on our team or at least pumped up. If you think that he is an ok addition to your team then take a minute look at his stats. If that want sway your opinion then get back to me at the end of the season. He will change your mind I promise you that.
