Giants give David Diehl a new contract

The Giants reportedly tore up David Diehl's old contract and rewarded him with a new six-year, $31 million contract prior to the recent NFL draft. The deal has annual escalator clauses that increases Diehl’s salaries between $750,000 and $1.1 million a year as long as he plays offensive tackle.

The team could not confirm the report.

Diehl was entering the third year of a six-year, $15.5 million extension he signed in 2005 that was scheduled to expire in 2011.
