Irizarry Wrote Letter To School President

POSTED: 12:09 pm EST March 7, 2008
UPDATED: 12:40 pm EST March 7, 2008

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. -- He's only 12, he doesn't have a car and he lives nearly 500 miles from campus.

But Joshua Irizarry's heartfelt plea and willingness to work around obstacles got him a brief consideration for the gig as head football coach at West Virginia University.

Insisting it was "a completely serious offer," the Connecticut boy outlined his skills in a letter to WVU President Mike Garrison when the job opened up in December. They included "making up new plays to fool defenses in local sandlot games."

Have to give this kid a lot of credit for having the heart, dedication, and ambitions to try and get consideration for a prestigous job.

I won't lie, as a Rutgers fan, I would have loved this.

what would be even funnier if they actually went through and hired the kid. And he wins the big east.

Pat White and Noel Devine, plus Louisville, Cincinnati, Rutgers all lost their biggest contributors, I wouldn't say it is impossible.
