Yes, this is true, but basketball also has an early signing period, football does not.

I know at USC, they already have 10 guys committed for their 2009 class, and 4 for their 2010 class.

I know at Texas, in most years, before the summer even starts, their class is already full!

I don't know how you can evaluate a kid, fully, when they are Juniors in high school...they are still growing! I know there are the elite few who are just studs, and no matter what happens, will be studs, but for those who are late bloomers or hit late growth spurts, more and more of those will be left out in the cold.

I feel kinda bad for this kid, Kevin Hart. I remember when it was first breaking, Cal fans were coming to the Oregon websites asking if any of us had heard of him, and of course, none of us had. I can't imagine what goes through a 17 year olds head to make up something like this.
