Longhorn point guard D.J. Augustin said Monday night that he still has not made a decision about whether to submit his name for the NBA draft.

"It's a day-to-day process," Augustin said after the Longhorns' academic banquet at the Erwin Center. "I'm taking my time."

One team insider said he thinks Augustin is leaning toward leaving.

Arizona State's Jeff Pendergraph will be back for his senior season after he decided Monday not to declare his eligibility for the 2008 NBA draft.

"Right now just doesn't seem like the right timing," Pendergraph said after meeting with ASU coach Herb Sendek. "The draft is so deep. There's just a lot of uncertainty. I didn't want any ambiguity, uncertainty, about what I was going to do."

USC forward Davon Jefferson told several teammates he intends to make himself available for the NBA draft, although it is not clear if he will hire an agent.

"He said he's going pro," said a USC player who asked not to be identified.

Meanwhile, USC forward Taj Gibson is expected to announce he will return for his junior season. Gibson went home to New York for the weekend to mull his decision.

MILAN, Italy (AP)—Danilo Gallinari, the leading scorer in the Italian basketball league, declared for the NBA draft on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old Gallinari is averaging 17.5 points and 5.6 rebounds with Armani Jeans Milano. He’s shooting 39.8 percent from 3-point range.

At 6-foot-9, Gallinari is hoping to be a top 15 pick. He plays guard or forward.

With the deadline to make an early entry into the NBA draft looming Sunday, North Carolina junior forward Tyler Hansbrough of Poplar Bluff, Mo., has yet to announce a decision -- and perhaps hasn't even made up his mind.

"I have no idea what Tyler is going to do," his father, Gene, said Wednesday, adding, "He can't go wrong either way."

It didn't take long for North Carolina coach Roy Williams to be asked about the futures of underclassmen Tyler Hansbrough, Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington at Wednesday night's "Tar Heel Tour" stop in the Triangle.

His reaction: "I do not know."

Contrary to Internet reports, Williams said that junior Danny Green has not been part of the process, which has included gathering information from 18 teams as to where the players would be drafted.

Kosta Koufos told The Repository late Tuesday night that he would forgo his remaining eligibility at Ohio State and make himself available for the NBA Draft or possibly play professionally overseas.

"I felt like this was the route I needed to take in my career and this was the most necessary route," Koufos said. "I've heard a lot of positive stuff. As of now, I'm just working hard and trying my best to reach my goal."

Asked if he got feedback on whether he would be a lottery pick, Koufos said, "As of now, I'm not worried about where I'm picked. I'm going to try my best, work out and work hard."

I thought I heard somewhere that Hansbrough was staying, but Lawson and Ellington weren't.

I'm not sure what Koufos is doing. He came into Ohio State highly touted, but hasn't exactly lived up to the hype....

I don't think Hansbrough knows what he wants to do. In that one article, his father didn't even know what his plans were. He should stay in school as this draft class is pretty deep; he'd do a whole lot better next year. Koufos is another kid that should stay an extra year, don't think he's ready for the NBA just yet.
