Default Is Robert Horry HOF worthy?

So, he enters this game to tie Kareem for most playoffs games and he will pass Kareem for sure by next game. He has 6 rings and was a big contributor to Rockets (10 block shots in game 1 of NBA finals in 1995), Lakers (key 3 point against Kings to send Lakers to another championship series), and Spurs.
Even he does not have an impressive numbers like others but is his achievement deserve to get a nod to be a HOFer?

If it was based on what he does n the playoffs, then yes. Otherwise I'll have to pass, like you said his numbers arn't impressive.

He's the Claude Lemieux of the NBA. It's a tough call on guys who are just average all year but seem to come up huge in the post season. Post season is supposed to be what it's all about though as you don't see teams hanging regular season banners... well at least the good franchises don't. If I had a vote, I'd vote for both of them for their perspective halls of fame. I don't think either will make it though.

If I had a vote, I would say no. When I think of hall of famers, I think of players who carried franchises putting up good numbers. Horry has always been a very good role player, and he has come up big in key playoff situations by making some big shots, but I don't know if a role player really deserves to be in the HOF. Let's be honest, as much as he's done, he's also ridden the coattails of some big time players in his career. If Horry deserves to be in the HOF, then you can make a case for guys like Derek Fisher who've been good role players who have contributed in some key situations throughout their careers. However, every great time has had a few of those role players in their squads.

Then, how can anyone explain about K.C. Jones?

I don't know about other guys, but I've seen Horry play, and he's not even close. He hits big shots because he's a role player who gets open looks thanks to the star players he plays next to. And because he's not a total failure, he makes those open shots.

It makes him a useful player to have on a team, but the idea of Robert Horry and the Hall of Fame even being mentioned together is all but ludicrous.

How about the towel throwing to Danny Ainge's face which got him traded to Lakers?
Even as a role player, that's a lot of rings on his fingers. He has more rings than Michael Jordan. He is also a very good defensive player and like I asked, if K.C. Jones can get selected to HOF, why not Horry? He has never missed a playoffs (actually, never missed a second round) and even as a role player that he managed to win multiple championships with 3 different teams. His stats was not impressive at all but how about his influence to a team?
From what I can tell, either he is the real deal or he is the luckiest basketball player ever.

The Basketball hall of fame does tend to award guys on championship teams more than other leagues and it is the easiest one to get into respectively. Compare that to Football where I could create probably an entire teams worth of players I feel are more than hall of fame worthy. A lot of that probably has to do with the much smaller teams than the other sports. If you're electing about the same number of players from a league that each team has five starters and maybe eight or nine players contributing regularly as a league where you have 24 starters and a 53 man roster, the first group is going to be a little more watered down. Charles Haley would be in the NBA hall of fame while he's not even a consideration for the NFL hall of fame if that makes any sense.
