Default Nuggets LISTENING to offers for Carmelo Anthony

http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_9199420

Quote:
The Nuggets have made no indication that they will actively shop Carmelo Anthony, but they will listen to offers, according to the Denver Post.

Because of his off the court problems and the luxury tax, Denver may be inclined to see what sort of package Anthony would yield.

WTF?

They probably wish they had moved him a few years ago when they could have used to him to clear some bad contracts off their team as well as getting more in return.

Since Nuggets decided to keep George Karl as the coach then they need to build the team according to Karl's wish. Ideally, Melo is not Karl's franchise player, AI is. Nuggets will not likely to get much of the good offer anyway since ironically that only Nuggets is the team that actually need a player like Melo.

Cavs would probably love to have him along with James, I think that would solve a few offensive problems. I think they are asking for too much for Carmelo Anthony.

Do we know what the Nuggets are asking for in return for Carmelo Anthony? After reading the article, it seems that any of the Nuggets big three (Melo, Allen Iverson, and Marcus Camby) could be moved.

I guess it all depends upon what the Nuggets could potentially get in return for any of those three, that could determine which one goes.

I just spent a good deal of time with the ESPN trade machine trying to get a Cavs and Nuggets trade to work. Cleveland would probably have to include some draft picks, but a trade with them would basically be a salary dump in no uncertain terms. I came up with this and honestly I don't think either team would do it. Denver would have a hard time explaining to their fans getting so little talent in return, though if Melo has a few more incidents with the law, they might be okay with it and Cleveland would gak at the contracts it got stuck with.

Eric Snow, Anderson Varejao, Joe Smith, Wally Szczerbiak (holy crap, I got that right without looking), Damon Jones and an unprotected number one for Nene Hilario, Kenyon Martin and Carmelo Anthony.

It works number wise and lets the Nugs get rid of their two worst contracts. It's pretty much setting up blowing up their team and starting over, but it's not like they have much there and the Cavs fans would get to watch Melo take bad jump shots and not play defense and K-Mart hobble around on gimpy knees as the center of their team once Lebron leaves town for New York.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it here yet, as I just went down to post; but the last I heard, the Nets were trying to work something out for Melo and Camby. In a couple years they *could* have both James and Anthony.

If they did that, that'd most likely kill their cap room for Lebron.

how bout the knicks possibly getting involved here?they deffinitely have some contracts and skill that matchup but would either zack randolph, eddy curry,or stephon marbury really help a team lacking defense already?

another team i could deffinitely see pulling a trade for melo off is the bulls.they need a legit #1 scoring option, melo can be that guy.they also have the good defensive players to get a deal done.they could offer either hinrich or ben gordon along with andres nocioni and others to get the deal done
