Nets may surprise everyone by going into the Conference Final again. They are a deep team with a bit too many injuries during the season.

Final score: Cavs 81, Nets 77

Hard fought game, not sure why the refs chose the end of the game to start calling it closely (some questionable foul calls vs. Cavs), but in the end LeBron and company pulled it out.
Nice to see Sasha continue to "sell out" on D; that block of the Kidd open layup with less than a minute to go was huge.

Better to be 1-0 up than 1-0 down.

From the Cavs' web site

Quote:
Sasha Pavlovic is not known for his defense – once notoriously telling an assistant coach that his offense is his defense.

But on Sunday afternoon, the Serbian swingman made the defensive play of the game – catching Jason Kidd from behind on what should have been a breakaway layup with 1:45 to play, and swatting his shot to preserve a Cavaliers’ four-point lead.

"I lost the ball on that pass and I just didn’t give up on the play because it was very important," said Pavlovic. "I knew Jason Kidd probably was not going to dunk, so I just followed him and tried to get the ball." ...

The Nets never recovered, and huge shots by LeBron James and Larry Hughes kept New Jersey at bay, as the Cavaliers took Game 1 in what was, at times, an ugly affair – 81-77 – before a sold-out crowd at The Q.

I can't see the Nets making out of this round.

I'd agree, but as a Cleveland sports fan, we are conditioned to expect the worst (if you saw the graphic on ABC yesterday, you know what I'm talking about).

Well, game #2 is over, and the Cavs head to Jersey up 2-0. TGF LeBron, and our ability to hit the offensive boards (19-3?! ) And Sasha picks up where he left off on Sunday with another career play-off high.
I hope they can grab one in Jersey, so it can be closed out no later than Game #5. Want to be well-rested for the Pistons (though at this rate, they may sweep).

Game 3: Sat. May 12th at 5:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio
Well, now we're in Jersey, hoping to put our foot on the larynx of the Nets' team and crushing it. Up 2-0, it'd be nice to win Game #3 and begin prep for the Pistons series. Don't want to be hanging around too long battling these clowns.

Is it just me or is this series hard to watch. I would think with Lebron, Kidd and Carter I'd want to see it, but I tried watching the game today and I got so bored. Anyone else feel this as well?

I didn't get a chance to see today's game but I haven't watched that much of this series though.

The only series other than the Jazz - Warriors that is interesting is the Spurs - Suns series.
