I took a look at the rules here:

IHL League Rules

No mention of total games played per season or who makes the playoffs... thoughts on where to find this?

EDIT: found the regular season games: 76

Good question: I found the playoff info on the IHL site, but you have to dig. According to the IHL

Darren McCarty has signed a contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. He had been playing with the Flint Generals of the IHL. McCarty is trying to make a return to the NHL.

The Fort Wayne Komets beat Bloomington 6-1 this afternoon and beat Port Huron 4-1 Friday to take a 16 point lead in the IHL standings with 68 points. There is a close battle for the second spot between Port Huron with 52, Flint with 52, and Muskegon with 51.

The Fort Wayne Komets lost two out of three games this weekend, but still are far out in front in the IHL standings. The losses were to Flint 3-2 and to Bloomington 4-1, after a win Friday night 2-0 over Kalamazoo.
