Assistant Coaches Named

On Wednesday, new Bucks coach Scott Skiles confirmed that Jim Boylan, along with Lionel Hollins, Kelvin Sampson and Joe Wolf, are the coaches he would like to have on his staff next season.

Final contract details still have to be worked out but barring any last-minute snags, that is the group that will join Skiles on the Bucks' bench next season.

"Those are the four guys I'm after right now," said Skiles. "We're still in the process right now of trying to get it all sewn up."

GM John Hammond said Thursday that the Bucks were very close to completing the contracts of assistant coaches Jim Boylan, Lionel Hollins, Kelvin Sampson and Joe Wolf for next season. According to Hammond, those contracts could be finalized as early as today.

"We've come to agreements with everybody," said Hammond. "We just haven't signed contracts yet. We're in the process of getting contracts back ... so I would say maybe by (today) or if not, then maybe by Monday."

The Milwaukee Bucks announced the hiring of a new athletic trainer and a new director of basketball operations Tuesday.

The new trainer is Marc Boff, who spent the last four seasons as the Chicago Bulls' assistant trainer. Jon Horst, who last season was the Detroit Pistons' manager of basketball operations, is the Bucks' new director of basketball operations.

Horst will join new GM John Hammond as the Bucks' representatives at the draft lottery Tuesday in Secaucus, N.J. Hammond will be on stage for the televised portion of the program while Horst will be in the private room where the actual lottery takes place.
