New board in general?

I suggest a "Culture and Media Room" (or something) forum.
That would give us a better set of clear forums in the general forum IMHO....

Politics and Current Events: for politics (duh), lawsuits, laws, life issues, etc
Culture and Media Room: for stuff like odd news, TV, music, video, movies, etc (we have some good ones that get lost with the amount of threads in the B&G)
TSB Bar and Grill: for light stuff like random thoughts, food threads, picture threads, trivia, non-news odd stuff, etc

(in addition to the Technology, Gaming, & GFX forums too)

I think it would help avoid some overlap and ambiguity, as well as help keep some of the TV/music/movie threads relevant.

Seems like a good idea to me, but what do I know, I am not in charge.

It would be a nice way to split some topics up and organize them some more.

Well, when Homefan was originally launched, it was a "wait and see if we need it." That carried over onto the current TSB. For a long while, we didn't have the numbers we do now that warranted a separate forum for "Media" or "Entertainment" type stuff.

Perhaps now we do. We've grown since our launch, (of course), and perhaps we should revisit this.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

It can get more dead then some of the nba team boards

I seriously doubt either forum would get dead.

There's a pretty decent amount of posters who post in general (which will always be there and there would still have a ton of relevant threads (only missing media threads)), and a lot of people are always posting something on movies, music, etc...so I don't see that changing with a new forum.

It's worth a shot, I think. Organizationally, it's more logical, but then you run the risk of there being not enough activity in each of the forums due to too specific division of topics.

I think it merits a trial run, though.

I'm mostly in favor of such a thing. One that that gets annoying from both a mod and a user perspective is a crapload of stickied things at the top of a board. BUT without them things you want to keep in the front, fall....so one more sub board in the B&G I would think would help keep that to a minimum and keep popular topics fresh without bogging up the other areas...

Here's my two cents. Give it a shot, if it fails miserable then let's merge it bak with the old B and G. No harm in trying things right.
