When I saw Osgood was on the floor that I was thinkng.....yes!
But, when I found out it was Ribeiro then I was thinking.....no! Later I realized that Osgood was faking it then I was thinking.....you bastard! Anyhow.....at least that Ribeiro will be playing on Monday, that's a good news. Stars need to get their PP going and stay away from the penalty box, if they can get those two things done then they should be able to win. So far, 7 regulation goals out of last 6 games after 27 goals in the first 8 games. They need to get their scoring touches back, it is not a good time to go into a cold spell. |

I finally got to see a replay of the incident..... everyone was so worked up about what?
![]() I thought ribs stick swing was pretty minor, especially when you see osgood with the cheap shot first. if you take into account the fact that Osgood was wearing a chest protector that's designed to a 100 mph slap shot, I think he was selling it pretty good. yes, it wass a stupid retaliation, but a 4min double minor for high sticking would have done it. with Osgood's 2 minutes for roughing, it would have been about right....

It was after the game was over... so 4 mins or whatever wouldn't have done anyone any good.
I thought it was rather severe. A two handed baseballswing against the goalie, breaking his stick in the process. Not every day you see that one... Plus I don't really think that Osgood was faking it. I doubt it hurt THAT much, but I think it did hurt some, and just the surprise factor itself would make you go down. And he got up pretty quick too. Said he had a little bruise there aftewards, since it got him in an area where he didn't have that much padding, but that he felt okay pretty quick. But maybe he's lieing about the whole thing...? ![]() |

Osnogood got hit. That's not a lie.
Ribs surprised him with the swat. That's not a lie. The Riberian *as some folks call it* swoon and dramatics? ![]() I'm sorry, Winger, but those chest protectors are pretty solid. Chris felt the hit, no question, but he played it up. I'm sure I can find a picture of Ribs' face in case any Wings fans would like to see how our man is "faking" his damage. I'm just glad we didn't lose Ribs cuz he lost his temper. Ott too. Fines we can live with as we need both of our Stars to try and keep our postseason rolling... |

part of what I didn't like was the move was instigated, and then McCarty calling him out for chicken---- play when Osgood got to stand behind hte rest of his teammates. it was a play worthy of avery, intigating and hiding. I don't like the double standard for goalies

bratlingWe're not saying Ribs is innocent. If Ribs broke his stick though, it was via the crossbar and not Osnogood. As for Mac...I understand what he was doing, completely, cuz Otter does the same thing BUT thats normally after the guys on the ice have already tried to address matters. It's not like Ribs could actually fight Chris, although I have no doubt that he would. The Ribeiro we have on the Stars is a lot different than the one who played (and acted) for the Habs. Make no mistake about that. If Mac goes after anyone, I will guarantee that there will be suspensions handed out. I'll be shocked if the league doesn't have someone in attendance too just to try and prevent vigilante justice. |

But I also think he got rather surprised by the whole thing and reacted accordingly. Goalies in general tend to flop way too much. But that's really not what it was about. A two handed slash up high against anyone after the game is over, is severe enough imo, to be worth a suspension. Plus... maybe the Stars should actually defeat Osgood in a game before calling him Osnogood. Heck, how about any team beating him this playoffs, heh. Mac getting suspended would have zero effect on the Wings at this point. He's not that valuable to the team. Last edited by Winger : 05-12-2008 at 12:16 PM. |

He's been Osnogood for longer than I've known you, Winger. That's not about to change. Besides, maybe I should wear my Langenbrunner jersey to remind him of the center ice shot that cost the Wings the game. I may even have a post-goal picture of him tossing the puck on in the air like "well...damn"
I think stick action to the face is worthy of a forced sit too. Are you ready for Hasek to be back in net? |

Osgood's offence, although not very clean, was not severe enough to be suspended for it imo. If you get suspended for that, Turco should be suspended for what he does constantly to Homer infront of the net. And he doesn't even get a penalty. You ready for Holmqvist to play?
![]() The shot that Claude Lepuke shot from centerice that went in, hurt much more than the Langenbrunner thing. I've never been a big Osgood fan, my fellow Wings posters can testify to that. But the man has won a Stanley Cup with the Wings and he has gone 8-0 this playoffs. That deserves a ton of respect. But hey, you can call him what you want lol, I was just teasing. Afterall you got Marty TURco in net... (It's a Swedish thing )Last edited by Winger : 05-12-2008 at 12:49 PM. |

Respect is earned and OsNOgood has none from me. Never has and never will, both for on and off ice issues.
I know fully about your Swedish thing. Claude Lemieux had a great shot when he used it instead of his mouth for results. And don't forget, Claude was (up until the Drapes thing) someone I liked on the ice...but I never stopped liking him off the ice. I actually rather liked him on the Stars for the short period of time we had him. As far as the verbal diarrea comparing how the poor defenseless Holmstrom gets molested so egregiously by Marty I still maintain most vehemently that Holms has NOT been hit upside his melon unless his melon is located around his backside.Although... maybe that's really the case... |
