Default Ottawa 67's???

The owner of the Ottawa 67's is part of a group that may bring the CFL back to Ottawa.

The CFL is returning to Ottawa

A league source said Monday the CFL will award the Canadian capital a conditional expansion franchise during a news conference at Lansdowne Park on Tuesday.

CFL commissioner Mark Cohon will be in attendance to make the formal announcement. Although there is no specific timeline in place for the franchise to begin operation, it could be up and running as early as 2010.

Do they have the financial resources/assets to make a real committment to making such a franchise work?

The fella who own's the 67's is known for being savy when it comes to sports entertainment, so they might be able to pull it off, the first hurdle is upgrading Frank Clair Stadium.

What a joke. Ottawa gets a third try before a team in the Maritimes/Qubec City gets one.

Actually a joke (and a really bad one) would be if the Gliebermans got yet ANOTHER shot at owning the Ottawa franchise.

Hopefully for the sake of the league, the Ottawa franchise can be made into a viable club long-term.

although they let ottawa have a team....again... not like there's a lot of brainpower going on in the management.

Has there ever been donald?

Though to be fair - they have gotten better (had nowhere to go but up).

In the end, no real need to expand further right now. Better to have eight more or less stable franchises than the big mess from the "US expansion" experiment.
