Just a few more notes, rumors and such regarding the MLB...

Carl Pavano
Entering into his contract year, Mike Berardino speculates about Pavano's future in a Yankee's uniform. Could he be heading back to Florida?

Roger Clemens
A very well-written article that tells why Clemens would be a great fit in Houston.

Barry Bonds
With all the rumors regarding Bond's possible future in a Ray's uniform, Raysindex claims that the chances of seeing him play for Tampa Bay are slim.

Joe Nathan
After manager Ron Gardinhire claimed that they "were close" to an extension for the closer, Joe Christensen writes that nothing has happened lately.

Pedro Martinez
He has said that he won't initiate discussion about an extension until after the 2008 season if over and gone.

Mike Piazza
Is still contemplating retirement, and thinks that a decision will be made next week. He thinks he can still play, and is drawing interest from teams. His agent claims that there are two teams after him, one from the AL, and one from the NL. Who could they be?

I was reading the Pedro Martinez article in the New York Daily News today. I think the Mets will try to initiate contract talks with Pedro at some point during the season. I am not sure Pedro will be overly interested in a one year deal, so maybe the Mets offer two.

Possibly, but until he proves he can pitch decently this year, I can't find a reason why they should offer that.

Yeah, that is why me saying at some point during the season could mean towards the latter part after the Mets can see how healthy Pedro Martinez is.
